Why God Creates Parasites.

Quote.

When your mind and heart are truly open abundance will flow to you effortlessly and easily.

Question:

Do I believe in God? Yes, most of the time. However, there is one issue that causes me to doubt her existence. If you agree with the concepts that God is omniscient, omnipotent, all powerful, merciful, and that we are her children made in her image and that she loves us then why has she created various parasitic life forms that, in order to propagate, must invade the human body causing excruciating pain and suffering along with disability and even death? Can you explain how and why a God as described above could do such a thing? Thanks in advance for your thoughtful response to this question.

Response:

If God is a being who has created this suffering and compels us to endure it through no fault of our own, then I would agree, that wouldn’t be a very loving God. But I believe our lives and experiences of the world are guided by our own choices as we move toward self-realization. We make our own decisions and those consequences ultimately determine our happiness or suffering, God doesn’t make our decisions for us.

If our life experience was determined independently of our will, then there would be no opportunity for spiritual development, no growth of understanding and wisdom.  It wouldn’t be a loving God to deny us free will and the opportunity for spiritual freedom.

Our continued experience of pain and sorrow is not an indictment against God, it simply tells us about our need to expand our limited awareness.

Love,

Deepak
