Ask Deepak

Why did my father’s spirit stay around after his death?.

Quote.

When your mind and heart are truly open abundance will flow to you effortlessly and easily.

Question:

“My 84-year-old father died a week ago from congestive heart failure.

He had multiple health problems for the past 20 years so his passing was no surprise to my family.

In fact, it was very peaceful up until the last few hours of his life.

I was with him, holding his hand when he took his last, labored breath and his heart gave up.

Almost immediately as I was thinking about his life force I looked out the hospital window and the sun came out from behind a cloud I was struck by it.

My father was a veterinarian and I have been present hundreds of times when an animal passed or was put to sleep.

I always felt a void or an emptiness at the moment they passed.

I did not feel this with my father.

In fact, I was very confused shortly afterward when he died because other than intense grief I didn’t feel like he was gone…although I knew he was.

I have been bothered by it since and find myself waking up from dreaming about that moment 2 to 3x a night.

Can you help me understand this experience? Does a person’s life energy or spirit stay present for a short time after death?”

Response:

Your experience of feeling your father’s presence remaining in the room after he left his body is a common experience.

Just because your father’s spirit no longer had to be attached to his body after death does not mean it had to leave the body immediately.

The liberated consciousness has the option of staying awhile or not, so it shouldn’t be confusing to you that your father might choose to be with you a little longer since you were in intense grief.

Love,

Deepak
