The Weight of Personal Losses.

Quote.

When your mind and heart are truly open abundance will flow to you effortlessly and easily.

Question:

In the past few years, I’ve suffered the loss of five people who were very close to me – two were my parents and simply feel stuck! Working through this, I’ve decided I don’t want to be defined by my tragedies. Where do I begin to move in a new direction? I feel like it’s so much more than just my thoughts and feelings. Healing is so much more than just talking through it.

Response:

Working through the healing process in the wake of a series of deep personal losses takes time and patience. You can’t rush it. On the other hand, you don’t want to get stuck and let the grief become your identity. After the initial raw feelings of loss have started to soften, and the heart begins to heal and come to terms with life without their physical presence, I would encourage you to reflect on what gifts these people have given to you through your relationship with them. It might be their odd sense of humor, or the ability to remain calm in a crisis, or to see familiar things in a novel way. Whatever the gifts may be, that part of them is now part of you, and these received talents are now part of your unique abilities to meet your present life challenges. Applying their life gifts will naturally take your life in a new direction, away from grief into your own present. And in a way you will also be bringing a part of them along with you.

Love,

Deepak
