Skin Cell Replacement.
When your mind and heart are truly open abundance will flow to you effortlessly and easily.
Question:
I recently started reading the book Perfect Health by Deepak Chopra and it points out that our bodies are ever changing. For example, from the back cover, “Our skin is new every five weeks. Each year, fully 98 percent of the total number of atoms in our bodies is replaced.” So I am curious, and somewhat skeptical, about how scar tissue that I’ve had for years factors into this idea of regeneration? Do I just keep regenerating the same scar tissue?
Response:
Skin scarring is the result of damage to the deep layer of the dermis which then produces scar tissue which is different from the original skin cells. From that point, you will continue to regenerate the scar tissue at approximately the same rate as you regenerate normal skin cells. The point of mentioning the constant turnover of cells and atoms of the body is to help us to understand that what we think of as solid and unchanging is a river of flowing energy and intelligence. We are not our cells and atoms, because those are always coming and going. Rather we are the consciousness that configures that flow of energy into cells, biological behavior and sensory experience.
Love,
Deepak
Hi Deepak - I am experiencing the most awful fearful sensations in my stomach which of course reflects huge imaginary stress (I just feel afraid of everything at the moment). This results in constant running to the toilet as food is passing through me at a rate of knots. How do I stop focusing in on myself as it's just a perpetuating cycle and even when I try to meditate, I can't get rid of the stress and my bowels reacting. I am desperate to find a solution. Of course the doctor has me on valium and anti-depressants which are making the situation worse as I have never taken any kind of 'drugs' all of my life. Please help me Deepak as I just sit and cry my eyes out and it makes me feel like such a wimp. God Bless you for all the great work that you do and I hope you can send me some healing energy. Namaste - June
