Restlessness.
When your mind and heart are truly open abundance will flow to you effortlessly and easily.
Question:
I am 46 and for most of my adult life I have tended to look inward for answers or to gain understanding of what life sends my way. I would describe myself as a happy person, mostly content with my life. Lately, I have felt a growing sense of restlessness in my life. I don’t know any other way to describe this sense. It may be that I am searching for something. I’m not sure. I would very much like to understand what this means and find a way to still my heart. Can you help direct me?
Response:
The commonplace understanding of what constitutes spiritual places such a premium on the experience of stillness and quietude that we might feel something must be wrong or we have failed if we go through a period of restlessness. However, as you pointed out, restlessness can simply be a way for your inner self to direct your attention out of your familiar mental ruts in order to lead you to some richer, deeper knowledge or experience. Sometimes nature needs to prod you with vague unsettledness in order to take us out of our overreliance on rational, predictable avenues of growth. Occasionally, what we need are episodes of restlessness to pull us out of that false sense of comfort so that we pause and open ourselves up to new possibilities. Don’t judge or resist the restlessness. Relax into it and see if you can become interested in where it will lead you so that you even begin to enjoy the adventure.
Love,
Deepak
