Religion and Gods.
When your mind and heart are truly open abundance will flow to you effortlessly and easily.
Question:
I have started realizing that religion is probably the most horrendous invention of humans and being a Hindu it is tough for me to be participating in rituals and bow my head to idols I feel have been created by humans. I understand the forces that depicts the gods and the goddesses are present in each one of us, but I am confused as to why I should pray to these idols, my relationship to them and most importantly – how should I pray and who I should I pray to. (I kind of miss the comfort of prayer).
Any suggestions would be helpful.
Response:
It’s not religion that is horrendous, per se, it is what limited, conditioned minds have done in the name of God. That problem of ignorance applies to every ideal and motivation. No one is forcing you to pray, or encouraging you to have such damaging ideas about the impulses of your own consciousness. These forces of nature or impulses of intelligence may have iconic representation and rituals associated with them, but essentially, they are the structure of your own awareness. What is there to feel horrified about or suspicious of in that? I don’t blame you if you don’t want to pray to the idols, but that is beside the point. Prayer is intended to connect you to inner divinity, not a statue. Samadhi is the purest form of prayer. Beyond that, you can pray in any way the feels comfortable to you.
