Present Moment.

Quote.

When your mind and heart are truly open abundance will flow to you effortlessly and easily.

Question:

Why is it important to live in the moment? What must I acknowledge about this specific moment? Why is it so special? It is not particularly a moment that I will remember forever. Is daydreaming a distraction from the present? Isn’t imagining a good future a positive thing? Also, how can I be grateful for things I have previously been complaining about? Please help. Thank you.

Response:

Being fully present in the moment is valuable, not because you will remember it as a significant event, but because the present is the only place where you really live life. The present isn’t a fragment of time, the present is your essential self, it is the presence of your awareness—what you truly are. If you are imagining your future, then you aren’t here now, living life, making choices. Your attention is in the future where no choices can be made. If you are afraid or angry, then you are in the past, remembering old hurts and injustices. But to heal the past you need to bring your attention to the present, otherwise you are just reinforcing the old pain. There is nothing special to do or acknowledge in order to be present. It a matter of simply Being.

Love,

Deepak
