Ask Deepak

Patience.

Quote.

When your mind and heart are truly open abundance will flow to you effortlessly and easily.

Question:

I need help with being patient. I don’t know how to be patient. I feel it in my chest and I don’t like it and I don’t know what to do about it. I’m not even sure if I know what true patience even looks like. Growing up, I’ve seen some movies and to me it always looks like patience means  “waiting.” Is that what patience is? Waiting? If so, how do I “wait” without feeling frustrated?

Response:

I don’t equate patience with waiting. To me, patience implies an acceptance of reality and an allowance for change to unfold as necessary. Waiting often means judging that present reality is wrong, and that disallows you to be content until it changes to what you believe it needs to be. That is still impatience.

In order not to feel frustrated with your current circumstances, it may help to adopt an understanding that there is always a larger reason why events are not moving as quickly as you want them to, even if that is not apparent to you. The universe operates as a whole, and all our actions are interconnected with everyone and everything else in creation.

If impatience remains a persistent problem, then you will want to examine your assumption that everyone and everything around you should move at the speed your ego desires. Consider that the universe must meet countless other needs in addition to yours and accordingly, it is not likely that the universe will necessarily operate in the way that feels most convenient to your particular agenda. Also, given that it is entirely possible that learning to let go of your personal agenda is an issue that your soul is working on now, then it only makes sense that nature will organize situations that will compel you to learn patience.

Deepak
