Non-Local and Local Awareness.

Quote.

When your mind and heart are truly open abundance will flow to you effortlessly and easily.

Question:

In one of your presentations on your tape entitled “The Spontaneous Fulfillment of Desire”, you discussed the local and non-local minds and the relationship of the physical body with the spiritual.  Are these categories mutually exclusive?  For example, can a person excel himself interchangeably between the local mind and the non-local mind without even knowing about it?  To be specific, can a person use the ego mind where fear dominates in the physical world, which is the local mind, but use the non-local mind in other realms of life?  And does the spirit educate itself through these physical traits and, after a certain age, puts it in automatic drive?

Response:

As one experiences the non-local realm of consciousness in meditation, the presence of the higher self gradually reclaims various domains of the mind that have previously been under the sway of the ego or conditioned personality. So yes, one can switch between areas of experience that are either dominated by the ego or the silent witness Self. In those areas of awareness where there has been a long history of fear or trauma, it will take longer for the non-local consciousness to heal and reclaim. But eventually, all these pockets of resistance are resolved, and the true non-local Self reestablishes itself as one’s essential nature.

Deepak
