Ask Deepak

Is there a prayer for pets journeying to the after life?.

Quote.

When your mind and heart are truly open abundance will flow to you effortlessly and easily.

Question:

I have been listening to you and have felt inspired every time I hear your words of advice. Thank you for your insightfulness and words of wisdom.

I work in a veterinary practice as a veterinary technician (nurse) and often assist doctors with the euthanasia of our client’s beloved pets.

I care very deeply for these animals and their families who are always so distraught at these times.

I often find myself having a few moments alone with the pets when we are preparing them to be euthanized and I always try to say a prayer for the pets.

I would like to know if you could suggest a special prayer or some words that I could say that would be effective in giving the pets a sense of peace and help them in their journey after death.

My Response:

You are performing an important role in helping clients with their pets through that difficult emotional transition.

I suspect whatever prayer you are already doing for the pets beforehand is perfect.

The main idea is to hold the presence of loving light there for them at that time.

And the truth of the matter is that these pets do not need much help in the transition out of the physical body, because they do not carry the same human confusion and complications about the afterlife that we have.

Their process is simpler in that sense.

The primary adjustment is for their human companions.

The prayers for peace, understanding, and acceptance are mostly needed by the family members.

Love,

Deepak
