Ask Deepak

Intense Meditation.

Quote.

When your mind and heart are truly open abundance will flow to you effortlessly and easily.

Question:

I wanted to ask you about an intense meditation that I had recently. I have been practicing for about a year now. I was in the middle of a meditation where I was chanting the OM with eyes turned upward toward the forehead. I was breathing and seated and going good as I usually do. Then about 7 or 8 minutes in I got a jolt like sensation that almost knocked me over. I got a flash of energy and felt like I just took some LSD or something. I started seeing colors and a white flash that was flashing down from the top of my head. For the next few minutes I almost panicked and got up, but I hung in there and just spoke some prayers to my creator and felt very different for the rest of the day. I am almost fearful to move forward and keep pushing contact. I wanted to ask what is going on here.

Response:

It sounds like you have stirred up some dormant energies in your body. That is a good thing when it occurs naturally through silent meditation or under the strict guidance of a competent teacher, but what you described sounds like a forced practice, and that is not advisable on your own. I would suggest you ease off this Om chanting with eyes upward and the breathing afterward. Instead take up a meditation that puts you in the stream of evolution so that all your breakthroughs are automatically orchestrated at the perfect time and  according to your highest purpose. It is safer to let cosmic intelligence calculate these things, because our ego personality does not know what is necessarily in our best interests.

Love,

Deepak
