The past year has been a very difficult one. It seems that bad events continue to happen to me one after the other. Each time I experience a setback, I try and stay optimistic by telling myself that things will get better, and eventually they do. It’s just that as soon as I think things are starting to get better, I have another setback. This has continued for many months now. My question for you though revolves around the understanding of why bad things happen to us. I have struggled with a belief in a higher power for a long time, although I consider myself spiritual. I think I try to be a good person, and I am always trying to learn from my mistakes. I know that I am not perfect and I have certainly not been the best person my whole life. I just don’t understand why I have experienced so many really bad events over and over for the past year without a break. Is it karma, is the universe or God trying to tell me something? Everyone has their own theory, but I wanted to hear yours. I want to learn from life, but I just don’t know how to “place” these events into my head so it makes sense. Am I missing the bigger picture? I appreciate any advice you are willing to offer.

“Judgement only fosters self delusion”. Very true. I think there is a divine plan, to which we are not privy. Why something is happening—good or bad are labels we give events–is beyond our comprehension, given our limited intelligence. We can only accept what is happening, and go ahead with life. Maybe there are lessons to be learnt, may be we are inviting troubles into our life unconsciously with our own thoughts, may be it is karms—these are all equally guesses, but the bottom line is—we don’t really know. Just accept life and go ahead. If not anything, life is easier that way.

When we fully understand primal cause we can direct our thoughts and or take no thought….
What do we accept in our life? Illusions? Or do we accept the Self in Spiritual realization? What is true to all being? What is constant and doesn’t change? What is forever reliable and eternally innate to our being?
We don’t have to accept anything as real, that does not reflect man’s true being in divine primal cause, rather we can learn who we are in Spirit and direct our thoughts in this way, instead of occupying the mind with struggle thoughts and so called bad things—-
We are never freed by accepting illusions. We become free within ourselves of struggles as we continue to direct our thoughts to their creative source.
We are not puppets on a string-We are here to find this out-
Our true image and reflection has been ordained by One divine Mind, the only Real substantial cause. Divine Mind does not reflect struggles or problems…We are here to find this out and live in our true divine essential nature, free from all sense of sin, struggles, sickness and death……
Man is made to live harmonious and eternally free from all discord, suffering and sickness, troubles and worries….
True healing is knowing, absolutely knowing, that are being starts from perfection, and has never left perfection..True healing can come no other way then to know, claim and accept your essential Self in your eternal divine nature…
You are eternally free and always have been from struggles. “YOU” live, move and have your being in God’s infinite Goodness…..

Life often feels like a boat floating on water – always adjusting to the flow of the water underneath supporting it
I went sailing on the blue waters for a year, Really..and when I was able to learn how to set the sails and harness the wind, I could point my vessel in the right direction and finish the round about journey all the way home again..
Thank you for such beautiful thoughts Mary and Heartphone…
and thank you Deepak and Dr Vaidyanathan..(Good meaning when a name has two n’s in it….
WHO AM I TO JUDGE?
The key is not the good or bad event but how we respond to them. We are to respond to both equally with Thanksgiving. Universal actions are not always about us alone.
Hi,
I do understand and agree with your answer – not judge as bad or good but just an event. My question is –
Is that humanly possible? I think we are born with these so called negative qualities (born sinner per Christian). I feel all the advice is good but not possible to implement.
Any real guidelines how to achieve that (step by step)?
Thanks
mita
In my younger days the computer just entered in society and in my household as a new means of learning, step by step
I started to program small games for children, also step by step.
Suddenly the insight came that in the same way I could program my life, step by step
And it worked! Step by step I have learnt to unlock my very own creativity in many ways.
Am now at the age of 64, making labyrinths and poems, step by step.
It still brings me so much fulfilment.
Wishing you the same, step by step

God has created mankind capable of living and expressing innate divine qualities. Once we release the concept of sin as a fact of our true identity and learn and cultivate what already is inherent in our being, then living a divine life is not impossible at all.

I find that as you progress on your spiritual journey and start becoming aware, the tests come quicker and harder to test if you have evolved or not!
Becoming evolved means checking your ego at the door and the Universe keeps knocking you down till you become humble and acknowledge the Higher Power!
Always make sure your intentions are pure behind every thought, word and action and not just serving your ego!
