Question:

I think that we will experience unity consciousness ONLY when we die,  but it is hard to   achieve  when the person is alive. Or in another words I think that once a person experiences Unity Consciousness he / she will die at once…. Period. Am I right?

Answer:

No, at least not by the traditional understanding of unity consciousness.  The state of unity consciousness is expressly understood as the experience of consciousness that  unites the duality of one’s inner Self with the essential Being of the object of one’s experience. It is a cognition that your own consciousness is the same as the consciousness that makes up all creation. This state of consciousness is the activation of our true potential. This is what our mind-body system is designed for. This is when life becomes really fun and meaningful. This is the genuine starting point for life, not the end. When Buddha and other sages became enlightened, they didn’t just go “poof” and disappear, or drop dead on the spot. The miracle of the human nervous system is that it has the inherent flexibility, when the impurities are removed,  to reflect that universal intelligence and uphold that state of unity consciousness. So don’t underestimate the significance of your physical body in expressing the full value of enlightenment right here on the earth plane.
